Erica Menard-Johnston joined Universal Electric Company in 2023 as an Estimator. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1999 where she was recruited to play field hockey for four years. She worked at a local web marketing firm after graduation until she decided to enter the electrical field in 2001 as an apprentice. Erica attained her journeyman electrical license in 2005. Early in her career, Erica worked on many historical rehab projects throughout Western MA. She has worked as an electrician on many large-scale projects on various college campuses, federal courthouse, numerous hospitals, and prisons throughout Massachusetts. Erica then transitioned from commercial/industrial construction work to working on a college campus, performing maintenance and small projects in occupied spaces throughout the campus for ten years. Erica returned to the construction field and worked as a Foreman on various jobs including the Westover AFB project, new town library, and hospital renovations, before climbing her way up the ladder to become a Project Manager and Estimator. Erica enjoys spending time with her family biking, skiing, running road races, vacationing, and coaching her two sons’ multiple sports teams.
